Unity and Diversity in Kraichtal
The township of Kraichtal, established in 1971, consists of nine individual communities namely Bahnbrücken, Gochsheim, Landshausen, Menzingen, Münzesheim, Neuenbürg, Oberacker, Oberöwisheim and Unteröwisheim. Today almost 15.000 people live in Kraichtal. Kraichtal spreads over an area of approximately 80 square kilometres offering an extensive and interesting landscape for relaxation.
The historical village centres have been improved by various development and restoration programmes. Furthermore several new estates have been developed.The main industrial centre is situated at Gochsheim, whereas most of the working population commute daily to nearby cities like Bruchsal and Karlsruhe. Here too, the metropolitan railway offers an economical and comfortable means of transport.
